Creating a PDF of your ad from your application

  • PDF documents can best be created by using Adobe Acrobat Distiller. See recommended Acrobat Distiller settings (Note: You should not use the "Acrobat PDFWriter Print Driver" to create your PDF file).
  • If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Distiller, PDF documents can be exported or created from many desktop publishing applications.

Creating a PDF of your ad from InDesign CS

Avoid "Exporting to PDF" from within InDesign CS. The encoding of embedded fonts by InDesign CS is not supported by some RIPs. Rather, print to a postscript file and distill with Acrobat Distiller to create the PDF. This CS encoding "bug" has been fixed in InDesign CS2.
